According to an article that was written on 19 April 2015, immediate investigation was conducted and the source of unpleasant odor in the cafeteria was identified. It occurs due to the clogged sink and worsened by the inadequate air ventilation in the area.
Immediate action was carried out in which both the cafeteria operators have been asked to maintain cleanliness in the entire cafeteria.Appointed cleaners were asked to clean leftovers that were trapped in the sink regularly, especially during peak hours to ensure no odors coming from the sink.
To keep good air circulation, the hospital is considering to put exhaust fan in the hospital cafeteria. Therefore the installation of exhaust fan in the area will be performed once the budget approved. Both cafeteria operators were reprimanded and warning letter was issued to ensure that the level of cleanliness must be maintained.
We also appeal to all customers to keep the place clean by not throwing hand paper towel on the floor. Daily inspections by the Public Health Unit will be conducted to ensure that the level of health and cleanliness is satisfactory.
