National and Patient Safety First
The SOP was a product of numerous
engagements with the National Security
Council, Department of Immigration Malaysia
and the Ministry of Health Malaysia including
the Medical Programme. Ensuring that the
safety of our nation was of utmost priority,
Malaysia’s healthcare travel was then identified
as the first of tourism sector to be permitted to
operate effective 1 July 2020. This brought a ray
of light to international patients who place their
trust in Malaysia Healthcare and were keenly
waiting to resume their treatment.
However, it is vital to maintain the delicate
balance of ensuring the safety of our nation
while responsibly providing continuity of
care to our international patients during the
pandemic period.
Until today, MHTC proactively refines
the SOP in accordance with the current
pandemic situation and plays a major role in
implementing dan facilitating the strict protocol
from pre-arrival through post-treatment,
and until patients safely return to their home
country.
