COVID-19 Screening Booths (CSB)
Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI)
through cooperation with the Centre of Excellence for
Advanced Sensor Technology (CEASTech) of Universiti
Malaysia Perlis and iDeria Sdn. Bhd. embarked on a pilot
project to build COVID-19 Screening Booths (CSB) in selected
MOH hospitals and health clinics. The aim of this innovation
was to ensure controlled, safe and comfortable environment
for healthcare frontliners conducting screening procedures
on suspected COVID-19 patients. These CSB were equipped
with high-efficiency particulate (HEPA) filter and constantly
maintained with positive pressure.
The first CSB were placed at Hospital Tuanku Fauziah Perlis,
Hospital Sungai Buloh Selangor and Hospital Tengku Ampuan
Afzan Pahang. The subsequent hospitals include Hospital
Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Serdang, Hospital Sultanah Aminah
Johor Bahru, Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Negeri Sembilan and
Hospital Umum Sarawak. MOH hospitals also received CSB
donated by NGOs such as Pertubuhan Amal Perubatan Ibnu
Sina Malaysia (Papisma) and Bachang Charity, Melaka.
