Health Workforce
Mobilisation
The Malaysian healthcare system is only as strong as its members. As such, the
key goal remains the maintenance of a strong and healthy workforce. A healthy
workforce continuously strives to protect and promote the health, safety and
well- being of all workers and the sustainability of the workplace (WHO, 2009).
This relates to a team that is comprehensively trained, well informed and available.
In order to achieve this, a team comprising officers from the Medical Profession
Development Section, Assistant Medical Officer Section, Nursing Division as
well as the Allied Health Sciences Division formed the human resource sub-
unit. During this pandemic, the team was challenged with the arduous task of
optimising the Ministry’s health workforce that included volunteer management
and deployment.
