Internal mobilisations were planned and
executed by State Health Departments.
This is carried out by an assigned liaison
officer for each of the respective services.
These liaison officers continuously monitor
the activities in their state and provide
feedback on the current requirements.
When a request is made by these states
for additional support, the human resource
sub-unit coordinates the movement of
HCW from other states. The spirit of
#strongertogether also saw the participation
of private sector HCW in sharing the
burden. This involved various individuals
from different healthcare categories that
were either contracted for service or
volunteered.
Having the above strategies in place,
provided room for longer term strategies
to be implemented. The collaboration
with the Public Services Commission
of Malaysia (JPA) and the MOH Human
Resource Division, allowed the possibilities
of new hires. Healthcare workers of various
categories were either hired through
contract basis or permanent post based on
the current needs.
